Donate winter woolies to a homeless shelter.

Do we really NEED seven scarves, four pairs of slippers and twelve warm jumpers? So let’s pass them on to those who don’t enjoy the benefit of central heating in the winter months. Check out some more generous reasons for doing this on the Salvation Army website

We’ve just passed some jumpers on to the local Pakistani centre which was collecting them to send to people in Bangladesh. I’ll see if I can find some more for those closer to home too.

What’s also very much needed and happily received are any bedding, bed linens and towels etc that are kicking about the back of the cupboards. I took some towels and bedding over the a Cyrenian’s shelter and the staff nearly fell over as earlier in the day they had been talking about having to buy some new ones that they couldn’t really afford! Also, anything that can’t be used will always be passed onto another charity/organisation that came make good of them!

Socks preferably fleece or wool are very much appreciated by those living on the streets. Give away spare socks or pop into an outdoor shop, buy some warm socks and give them to the next homeless person you pass or to a local organisation.
